An answer to the impossible!

Last night I got a message from my dad which basically made my whole day/week/month/year/etc.  Basically Chris, my rocking brother-in-law, figured out how to hook up my dad's new hearing aids to a phone so that what comes through the phone goes directly into Dad's hearing aids.  This allows him to be able to hear everything said very clearly and effortlessly.  PRAISE GOD!!!  Success has been found finally!  It was so good to hear his excitement and to have him say that he actually heard what I said on my message.  It was really easy to hear him too (since the device doesn't use a normal phone mic he didn't know how clear it would be).  So although his hearing is not healed, the Lord has blessed him through this!  One step towards the 'impossible' prayer of complete healing!

WAY TO GO DADDY!!!

I can't escape it...

Last night I went to bed around 12:30 (which is totally because when I came home early to go to bed, my roommates were all tempting me by watching House Hunters together. :) It's totally their fault.)  But then I got in bed and just tossed and turned and couldn't fall asleep because I just can't seem to escape it...WEDDING PLANNING!

Lately it has seemed that I can find any excuse not to do homework or go to this or that by simply doing some wedding planning.  As I laid in bed I just started thinking about a few things and then... WAA-BAM!!!  Ideas started rolling in right and left.  And instead of trying to sleep without success I just decided to get up and write them all down.

So 5-6 pages, 2-3 lists, and 1 1/2 hours later, I finally got to bed.

I LOVE IT!!!

Wedding Dress Shopping!

A few weekends ago the search for my dress began.  My family went on a vacation to Minnesota and the girls fit in a bit of shopping!  My cousin, Tara, came with us and it was just such a wonderful day!  We found some good choices up there but nothing for sure.

Then, last Monday I had a few hours to spare and so I went to a little boutique here in Cedar Falls called Simply "I" Do.  My friend Laura McCasland came with and we found some great deals and one pretty sweet dress option.

So I called my mom about this dress and she and Nicole decided to come up this weekend to look at that dress and go to a few other boutiques.  Laura McCasland came as well as Laina Bishop.  We started at another boutique here on Saturday and found one GORGEOUS dress, but wanted to check out the other one from Simply "I" Do again before we said yes to that one.  And a good thing we did.

We purchased the INCREDIBLE dress from Simply "I" Do and it feels SOOO good to have that decision made.  Here are a few pictures of the day!  Sorry, but none of these are "THE DRESS."  That one can't be shown in public!  :)

CF Farmer's Market!

On Saturday, Lauren and I went to the Cedar Falls Farmer's Market and it was quite fun!  Lauren got all the supplies for Stephen's (her fiance) wonderful.  salsa and I got a big old squash!  I have a recipe for a roasted butternut squash and I am quite excited to try it!  It was so good just to spend time with Lauren and catch up.  Since she is getting married as well, there were quite a few little ideas getting bounced around.  She is an amazing friend and I value her friendship so much!

There was also an art festival on main street and Oh So Cute!  Some of the stuff there was beautiful and I wished that I had about $5,000 so that I could buy all these pretty things... like pottery (I LOVE LOVE LOVE pottery and one of my hidden wishes is to know how to make pottery) and photography and jewelry and wall hangings and well you get teh point.

Bottom line... I love Cedar Falls.  It is such an adorable little town.

Also... stay posted because Matt and I are getting engagement pictures taken on Friday by a friend up here in Cedar Falls so there will probably be a post of those coming soon!
